Mrs Catalina Isaza-Cantor

International lecturer, resident in Adyar

Author, poet, translator, editor, and international lecturer. Born in Colombia, she has long felt like a citizen of the world. In 2019, she left her position as a university lecturer in Bogotá to become a resident volunteer at the Theosophical Society’s international headquarters in Adyar, India, where she lives with her husband and daughter.

She joined the TS in 2006, inspired by her parents’ spiritual path and their exploration of sacred wisdom traditions—an experience she describes as a return home. Since then, she has served in diverse roles, including board member of the Colombian Section, Round Table coordinator, youth organiser, and a bridge-builder among young theosophists across English, Spanish, and Portuguese. She also served on the first board of the revitalized World Federation of Young Theosophists (2022–2024) and volunteered in TS Brazil, where she lived for nearly five years.

Catalina currently serves as Secretary of the School of the Wisdom in Adyar, contributing also to shape international conventions, social media outreach, and various organizational initiatives. She is also part of the founding group of teachers of the Adyar Theosophical Academy.

Since 2008, she has written and lectured extensively across the Americas, Asia and Europe, with her articles and literary work appearing in major Theosophical magazines and others in several languages. She is the editor of Selección Teosófica (Colombian TS magazine) and, in 2020, co-founded the multilingual YouTube channel PragyaCSstudio with her husband, Shikhar, dedicated to sharing Theosophy beyond linguistic boundaries.

Alongside her Theosophical work, her professional experience spans education (from kindergarten to university), television, cultural management, translation, and editorial work. She holds an Honours degree in Literature, a Postgraduate Diploma in Cultural Management, and a Master’s in Education.

A lifelong volunteer, she supports intergenerational and intercultural Theosophical work and deeply believes in the transformative power of small acts of love and service—each a quiet thread in the fabric of unity, bringing meaning and compassion into everyday life.
